Mitchell Soccer Association
Minutes of 7-14-08
Present: Tom Berg, Deanna Wempe, Tonya Meaney, Laurie Hamar, Coach Duff, Terry Asleson, Steven Ptak and Jeff Smernik
Absent: Dan Williams, Denise Werner, Kami Martin, and Scott Muillenmeister
Minutes: There were no corrections to the minutes.
Agenda:
Concessions: There wasn’t much profit from the spring soccer season (bad weather and canceled games contributed to this).
Fall Registration: We had quite a few younger players sign up (7th and 8th grade). The older kids need to sign up. First practice will be August 11 and all participants must have a sports physical before they can practice along with the registration, uniform policy, medical waiver and the money paid. Discussion was held on whether we had enough boys to field a varsity/junior varsity team for the fall 2008 season.
Referee Pay: We currently pay $45 for the center referee, $30 for the side referee for each game. The other town2 are raising their pay for the referees. Tonya Meaney MOVED that we pay $45 for the center referee, $30 for the side referee and 40 cents per mile. Deanna Wempe seconded the motion. MOTION carried.
Refund of money: Because there was no soccer camp this summer, Tom Berg MOVED that we refund Paula Northrup $75 for the soccer camp fee that was bought at the Mitchell Christian School auction. Laurie Hamar seconded the motion. MOTION carried.
Dates to remember:
August 11: Fall soccer practice starts. Remember to have the registration and sports physical filled out otherwise you cannot practice.
August 12 and 14: Mandatory parents meeting (you only need to be at one of these) at 7:30 pm at Cadwell
Next meeting: The next meeting for MSA is set for August 11, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Mitchell Parks and Rec. I will not be there so someone must take notes for me.
